Some East Tennessee farmers are approved to accept WIC FMNP vouchers given to participants in Knox County!
WIC: The Special Supplemental Nutrition Program for Women, Infants, and Children
FMNP: Farmers Market Nutrition Program
WIC FMNP gives checks to exchange for fruits, vegetables, and herbs to women and children (1 through 4 years) who receive WIC services. Vouchers are redeemed with approved farmers only. In East Tennessee, the WIC FMNP only serves families in Knox and Sullivan counties. WIC is a federal program administered by Food Nutrition Services (FNS).
In Knox County, WIC is administered by the Knox County Health Department.

Vouchers can be accepted by the approved farmer wherever the farm sells. Participants can visit the information booth at the Market Square or New Harvest Farmers’ Markets for assistance finding participating farms on any given market day.
