Instead, a parent/guardian can pick-up FREE take-home activity kits, fruit/vegetable samples, and $5 in Produce Bucks for each child in their household, ages 2 – 12. Children DO NOT need to be present and are encouraged to stay home, if possible. Take-home kits can be collected from our information booth. Nourish Kids (formerly known as the Power of Produce Club) provides an opportunity for children to engage in the local food system through conversations with farmers, educational games and demonstrations, and exposure to new fruits and vegetables. Kids build relationships with farmers, create positive associations with fruit and vegetables, develop budgeting skills, and begin to influence their local food economy.
Nourish Kids Club is FREE for children ages 2-12 and includes an activity, a sample of a locally-grown fruit or vegetable, and $5 in Produce Bucks to be spent at the market.
Nourish Kids is offered monthly at 3 farmers’ markets in Knox County. Currently, all Nourish Kids Clubs are offered as take-home activities.
