Summary: To assist Nourish Knoxville in coordinating nutrition incentive programs at farmers’ markets and farm stores in East TN. The Program Coordinator supports all aspects of outreach and operations for produce incentive and food access benefits programs including a regional SNAP-doubling program (Double Up Food Bucks), children’s program (Nourish Kids), and walking program (Nourish Moves) at participating farmers’ markets and farm direct sites in central East Tennessee. These programs rely on grant funding, and the Program Coordinator will ensure the goals of the grants are met both internally and by partners.
Position Type: Full-time, 40 hours per week, starting as early as January 15, 2023 and no later than March 31, 2023. In-person position. This is a grant-funded position, currently guaranteed through June 2025.

Required Availability: This is a full-time, 40-hour-per-week, in-person position with limited remote work options available based on season and demonstrated need. The typical work week for this position is Monday through Friday, with occasional nights and weekends. During the peak season, June through September, 1-2 Saturdays per month will be expected. This position will require working from a variety of locations, primarily Nourish Knoxville’s office, but also in both indoor and outdoor public settings, such as farmers’ markets, community events, and conferences. Travel within East Tennessee required, occasionally on weekends.
Nourish Knoxville, Inc. is seeking a full-time Program Coordinator to assist in coordinating nutrition incentive programs at farmers’ markets and farm stores in East TN. The Program Coordinator works across teams and with community partners in order to implement Double Up Food Bucks, Nourish Kids, and Nourish Moves at participating farmers’ markets and farm direct sites in central East Tennessee and at Nourish Knoxville’s farmers’ markets. The Program Coordinator will work directly with regional partners to ensure the ongoing success of Double Up Food Bucks (DUFB), Nourish Moves, and Nourish Kids, and work with the Markets Team to ensure that DUFB, Nourish Moves, and Nourish Kids are implemented and existing grant goals are met at Nourish Knoxville’s markets. These programs rely on grant funding, and the Program Coordinator will ensure the goals of the grants are met both internally and by partners. The Program Coordinator will work with the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) to plan and implement outreach, evaluation, and advocacy activities in support of the ongoing success of nutrition incentives, and provide resources, toolkits, and technical assistance to partner markets in East Tennessee. The Program Coordinator reports to the CEO and works with a small, collaborative team. A successful candidate will enjoy engaging and communicating with a diverse range of audiences and working collaboratively with internal and external teams.
The Program Coordinator will also work with the Markets Team on the implementation of and data collection for programs at Nourish Knoxville’s farmers’ markets. The Markets Team with Nourish Knoxville is made up of an AmeriCorps VISTA member (volunteer & nonprofit coordination; Nourish Kids in Knox County), a Markets Manager (farm inspections; vendor relations and communications; organization, operation, and evaluation of farmers’ markets), and a Markets Assistant; all of whom report to Nourish Knoxville’s Chief Operations Officer (COO). The Markets Team is supported by Knoxville City and County staff, summer Event Interns, as well as volunteers.
Given the nature of this position’s duties/responsibilities, it has been designated as Exempt under the governing Fair Labor Standards Act regulations and, therefore, is not entitled to formal overtime compensation and/or formal compensatory time. Nourish Knoxville has a generous flextime policy to allow for seasonal workflow.
Most essential functions will occur in an office setting located in downtown Knoxville, TN, but some will occur at farmers’ markets or events. Temperature and weather conditions may range from below freezing to over 100 degrees Fahrenheit, and from full sun to heavy rain.
Salary, $40-45,000 annually, depending on experience. Employer-paid health insurance. Two weeks accrued paid vacation in the first year, 11 floating paid holidays, and flextime policy.
