Watercolor Landscape Sketches, GreenPease Art Series

July 20, 2019 @ 3:00 pm - 6:00 pm

Join the Knoxville Botanical Garden & Arboretum for this watercolor workshop! Participants will learn basic practices for developing observational skills for painting plants and landscape vistas using watercolor and gouache. As with our landscape sketching course with charcoals, we will disperse amongst the gardens open spaces and practice sketching vistas using watercolor techniques that capture the essence of the moment through deliberate mark making with a brush.

This is Part 4 of the 2019 GreenPease art series! This nature based creative arts workshop series is facilitated by David Pease, aka GreenPease. GreenPease is a local service providing guided therapeutic gardening programs, horticulture & creative arts workshops for a variety of organizations and populations. GreenPease’s goal in is to provide unique educational experience with art in the gardens and additionally framing these activities as a mindfulness practice that improves our well-being.

David Pease received an M.S. in Plant Sciences in 2018 specializing in facilitating Therapeutic Horticulture programs and public educational workshops. David earned a BFA in Studio Art, with a minor in Art History in 2009. He has led hundreds of educational programs and workshops since 2013 when he first joined the Every Child Outdoors staff and began leading art workshops at UT Gardens.
