Meet the Daisy Family! Well, it could also be called the sunflower family, or the aster family, or the zinnia family, or the marigold family… because believe it or not, all these familiar flowers belong to the same family: the Asteraceae family!
Dr. Edward Schilling, UT Professor of Ecology & Evolutionary Biology, will be giving a lecture on the Asteraceae family. One of the largest plant families, it includes marigolds, asters, daisies, dahlias, zinnias, sunflowers, and more. Dr. Schilling’s research specializes in the Asteraceae family and this presentation will have something for everyone, from the professional gardener to the casual flower admirer.
