John Coykendall, Master Gardener from Blackberry Farm, will be at Blount County Public Library on Friday, March 1st at 10 AM to help us celebrate the opening of our Seed Library at BCPL. Grab a coffee and snack at the Bookmark Cafe, and sit a spell with John as he talks all things seeds, and answers your seed and gardening questions.
John has been saving heirloom seeds for more than 50 years, and knows just a thing or two about gardening and how to save seeds properly! This article from NPR is a good primer on John’s background: https://www.npr.org/sections/thesalt/2017/11/04/561862062/the-big-stories-behind-small-seeds-this-man-wants-to-save-them-all.
His knowledge is extensive, and he wants to help you succeed in your seed saving this year! This program will be held in the Main Gallery. If you plan on checking out seeds, be sure to bring your Blount County Public Library Card. Don’t have a card? Check out this information from our website on how to get one: http://www.blounttn.org/675/New-or-Replacement-Cards.
